About Us

The Great Lakes E-Summit was created for the purpose of providing a learning and sharing environment that welcomes and embraces all players in the electronic resources supply chain by holding an annual regional conference focused on electronic resources and related fields.

The “eSummit” was founded by Deberah England, Electronic Resources Librarian at Wright State University in the spring of 2010.  With the idea of holding an annual boutique conference in the Great Lakes area, Deberah enlisted the help of EBSCO’s “Roving Librarian,” Eve Davis.   Deberah and Eve talked strategy and then called upon colleagues in the Great Lakes region to represent their state on the eSummit’s Steering Committee, which provides direction and planning for the organization.  All answered the call and planning began for the first Great Lakes E-Summit conference, which was held in October 2011 on the campus of Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
